Centre Place Dental knows you have many options when seeking the best dentist for your family. However, our dental family has built a “home” where your unique needs take center stage. Led by the husband-wife team of Drs Chris and Robin Post, our practice is pleased to provide insights into six of our most common procedures and services, delivered in an uncommonly personalized and precise manner. Your treatment is done right the first time, and we never compromise on our approach to care or the patient experience.
Yes, many oral conditions can be prevented with consistently good oral care at home and routine visits to our office. Drs Chris and Robin can detect problems early during dental checkups before they cause damage. Our hygienists also remove plaque build-up, which cannot be removed with standard toothbrushes and floss. We also use various advanced diagnostic technologies to diagnose accurately, informing our recommendations for treatments like the ones mentioned below.
We can rebuild portions of decayed, broken, or traumatized teeth. These restorations range from tooth-colored, metal-free composite fillings to ceramic crowns. Thanks to our onsite computer-aided CEREC technologies and capabilities, our crowns can be made in just one appointment.
Even infected teeth with deep decay and damage to the innermost tooth structure can be preserved. Root canal treatment is not the dreaded procedure you may have heard about. It provides immediate pain relief and helps patients rebuild their teeth and avoid extractions. We remove the inflamed or infected tissues. Then, the treatment site is sealed off, and the tooth is restored to its health and strength with a durable and attractive dental crown.
In some cases, a tooth must be extracted or removed. Root canal therapy or other endodontic procedures to treat the inside of the tooth cannot always save it. If the tooth is not removed, pain persists, and infections can spread to other parts of the face and body. By extracting the tooth, we give your smile a clean slate and prevent potentially serious health complications.
Additionally, wisdom teeth or third molars are often extracted as they develop improperly in the mouth. By the time they emerge, there is usually insufficient space for these back-most teeth. So, removing them before they produce intense pain and potentially damage the surrounding teeth and other oral structures is essential.
For those essential teeth (not wisdom teeth) that are removed, Drs Chris or Robin want to replace them quickly to avoid complications like bone loss. When teeth are not replaced right away, the supportive jawbone deteriorates. This process can negatively affect your appearance, making chewing and other functions difficult. We are happy to discuss options like crowns, bridges, and dentures supported by dental implants. These systems are the closest thing we have to designing natural teeth to rebuild your smile. The prosthetic teeth are held in place by implants secured in the jawbone. They function as tooth roots to stabilize the crown, bridge, or denture. Of course, we also offer conventional bridges and precision-fit partial and complete denture appliances.
If your teeth and gums are healthy but don’t like the look of your smile, you may benefit from professional teeth whitening. Our take-whitening trays work and can be applied conveniently from home. We can also make everything from gaps between teeth to chips disappear with porcelain veneers or dental bonding.
