Centre Place Dental strives to brighten your day by restoring and sustaining healthy, beautiful smiles that truly shine. Led by Drs. Chris and Robin Post, our team accomplishes this by providing “timeless” personalized, kind, patient, and non-judgmental care, along with “timely” technologies that complement and support many common dental procedures. So, when searching for a “dentist near me in Lincoln, Nebraska,” we distinguish ourselves favorably from other practices in the area and beyond with investments in the likes of CEREC computer-aided dentistry. CEREC stands for:
We invite you to read on to learn more about these features of the CEREC system and how they are contributing positively to the patient experience and satisfaction with treatment.
CEREC involves the use of advanced software and equipment to make crowns and other restorations on-site. Since we have the capabilities to plan, design, fabricate, secure, and refine crowns in the office, Drs. Chris and Robin have eliminated the need for an outside lab. This feature truly allows for a “chairside” process whereby our team handles everything in-house. So, we can effectively make a durable and attractive crown in just minutes and in one visit instead of waiting several weeks while the lab makes your crown (followed by a return trip to the office to apply the permanent crown).
There are many direct and indirect cost savings associated with our state-of-the-art approach. Notably, you save time and money traveling to and from our office for care since we can complete your crown in one appointment. Additionally, CEREC crowns are a great investment in your long-term oral health and smile. They are designed and made to last. So, you get more out of a CEREC crown due to the use of precision diagnostics to accurately design your new tooth structure, as well as the use of the highest quality materials.
Restorative dentistry largely involves repairing teeth damaged by decay and other trauma. The crown itself is designed to fit on top of the remaining healthy tooth. Once placed and secured, crowns effectively restore the appearance, function, structure, and health of the damaged teeth. CEREC can also be used to design and fabricate other types of restorations, including dental inlays, onlays, and veneers.
No one should know that you have dental work. Restorations should blend in seamlessly and naturally within your smile. CEREC uses metal-free materials that are made to mimic the appearance of natural enamel. Since these materials resist staining well, our patients can enjoy their most beautiful-looking smiles for decades to come. You don’t have to worry about their appearance degrading over time or a dark line forming between the teeth and gums as the gumline recedes (a common complication associated with certain metal crowns).
A “virtual” model of your permanent crown is transferred to our on-site milling machine, which then shapes your restoration from a lovely, single block of the highest quality dental ceramic. In addition to being highly aesthetic, these ceramic crowns are also extremely strong. They are even appropriate for patients with a history of or concerns about sensitivities and adverse reactions to metals. Our ceramics at Centre Place Dental are truly biocompatible, so they “get along” well with natural, biological tissues. They do not, for instance, irritate the surrounding gum tissue.
