At Centre Place Dental, Drs Chris and Robin Post have invested in only the most durable and dazzling materials. Our state-of-the-art technologies also support the most efficient, convenient, and hassle-free experience. This combination of advanced materials, technologies, and techniques is fully displayed when Dr. Chris or Dr. Robin makes dental crowns. They can make this common restoration in just one visit.Â
At other offices in the capital city and much farther away, it would take at least two visits to rebuild your broken, damaged, and vulnerable tooth with a crown. In just five steps, you can get to know the “magic” behind our unique process.
We cannot treat what we do not know, so all treatments available at our office start with a thorough evaluation. A crown may be suitable if a cavity is too large to be adequately repaired with a filling or if your tooth is otherwise weakened due to trauma or more advanced decay.
To give your damaged tooth the fresh start it deserves, any remaining decay must first be removed. The tooth itself is also reshaped. This process allows one of our dentists to cover the tooth with the crown properly. Of course, any time we alter or clean the tooth this way, we ensure that the treatment site is fully numbed. You shouldn’t feel any discomfort.
We use special, comfortable, and non-invasive technologies to capture information about your tooth. Our team then uses this information to design and fabricate your new crown. So, we have effectively taken the dental lab and moved it in-house. Our team has the training and capabilities to handle every part of the crown-making process. With special software, the information we collect can be transformed into a 3-dimensional model of your tooth. This model is used as the basis for your permanent crown.
Once your crown has been designed “virtually,” this model is transferred to our onsite milling machine. This piece of equipment then mills or shapes your crown from a big block of highly durable and attractive metal-free ceramic. Your crown can be made in minutes.
After your crown is ready, Dr. Chris or Dr. Robin will check to confirm that it fits properly and looks great before securing it to your tooth. Since we have created a dental lab in our office, there is no need to wait two weeks or longer for an outside lab to make your crown. We have also eliminated the need to wear a temporary crown since your permanent one is placed in the same appointment that we prepare your tooth.
So, yes, you can rebuild your tooth and transform your smile in a single visit with CEREC, computer-aided dentistry. To find out more about our one-visit crowns, schedule your consultation today. Centre Place Dental of Lincoln, Nebraska, can be reached at (402) 438-5000.
