Proactive vs. reactive dentistry

We are the anti-drill, fill, and bill practice. Our team appreciates that many oral conditions can be prevented. We emphasize getting our patients on a schedule that includes routine checkups. These checkups largely involve exams by either Dr. Chris or Dr. Robin. One of our talented hygienists will also professionally clean your teeth. An oral screening is performed, and, as needed, X-rays and other diagnostic technologies are used to better understand what may be going on inside your mouth, such as the root cause of an aching tooth or bleeding gums. As needed, we can also incorporate other services to protect your teeth and gums; for example, fluoride therapy builds up the protective armor or enamel of the teeth. Oral appliances like sports mouthguards and nightguards are custom-designed to fit our patients’ mouths and protect the teeth and tissues from damage caused by contact or falls during sports, as well as from chronic teeth grinding.

Regular checkups and good oral care at home can minimize the need for treatments to repair damage in the future.
