Even when it’s a cloudy or overcast day, we are surrounded by sunny, bright smiles courtesy of professional teeth whitening. Our approach to teeth whitening at Centre Place Dental in Lincoln, Nebraska, will also brighten your day. Not only does it work when an array of OTC products fail to live up to their whitening promises, but our professional services also get results without the risk. When in the highly capable hands of our dentists, Drs. Chris and Robin Post, whitening-related tooth sensitivity is avoided, as is damage to the surrounding, delicate tissues of the mouth. Your results are efficient, predictable, and look even and natural. They also align with your personal characteristics, preferences, and goals for whitening.
To really break up and lift stains from the teeth, powerful whitening gels are required. These gels are generally not available at the drugstore or through online retailers. As qualified dental professionals, our office has access to whitening gels that are highly concentrated with peroxide-based ingredients. These ingredients have passed rigorous testing and demonstrated their effectiveness and safety. When properly applied to the teeth, they, in turn, safely and effectively remove stains and whiten yellow, brown, and otherwise discolored teeth.
Our dentists use Opalescence™ products. Opalescence™ is considered to be a leader in professional teeth whitening technologies. Specifically, Drs. Chris and Robin have selected their take-home whitening option with custom trays. Our patients love how easy and comfortable it is to gradually whiten their teeth from home or on the go with these custom-fit appliances.
First, schedule a consultation at our office. During your visit, Drs. Chris or Robin will examine your teeth and gums to make sure they are healthy enough for professional teeth whitening. Sometimes, discoloration is caused by cavities or dental decay. In such a case, restorative dentistry treatment would be necessary. It is also important to note that fillings, crowns, and other dental work do not whiten. We’re happy to discuss ways to get your most dazzling, stain-free smile even when you have existing dental work. If we confirm that you are a good candidate for whitening with Opalescence™, a custom tray will be made from impressions or models of your teeth. Once that tray is ready, you will be provided with whitening gels and information on when and how to prepare, wear, and care for your trays.
When the gels are applied and delivered to your teeth properly via custom trays, you will notice that your teeth look less dark and not as stained with each passing day. Since we partner with our patients, we can also advise on ways to prevent new stains and keep your teeth looking great. All patients should maintain regular checkups, during which surface stains are removed from the teeth by one of our skilled dental hygienists. These professional cleanings must be paired with consistently good brushing and flossing. As needed, Centre Place Dental can even provide you with “touch-up” whitening gels during your visit.
